The Security Internship Program is geared toward current college students who have a passion for cyber and physical security and an interest in Consumers Energy and the energy industry. The Security Internship Program at Consumers Energy is a key component of realizing the Security organization's vision of "A World Class Security Program Built at the Best Place to Work in Michigan".

What you will do: Current college students of all levels will work as part of a larger team to provide services and support for cyber security, physical security, compliance and program management activities. Cyber security roles are technical in nature and involve either deploying new security technologies or using our existing tools and processes to detect and respond to security incidents. Physical security roles work with our field investigators in a variety of capacities responding to incidents, conducting investigations and completing small projects. Compliance roles assist our team with managing various regulatory requirements such as NERC/CIP, PCI and TSA regulations. This work includes monitoring of controls, audits, assessments and small projects. Our program management function has a variety of needs including project management, process mapping/creation, security awareness, risk and privacy. The work will be challenging, equivalent to an entry level role, but in a collaborative team environment where you can learn from industry leaders.

In addition to working alongside full time employees carrying out the Security strategy for Consumers Energy, Security Interns will have the option to participate in a number of additional events within the program, including intern networking events, company tours and the consistently top-ranked event, the Intern Challenge.

A minimum GPA of 2.7 or higher is required.
