Providence St. Joseph Health Patient Sitter - Float in Issaquah, Washington

Description Patient Sitter - Float @ Swedish Issaquah Full Time (36 Hour Week) Night Shift 12 Hour Shifts Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or designee, performs a variety of tasks to assist ensuring that assigned patient(s) is safe and unable to harm themselves. Performs non- direct patient care duties as assigned. Providence caregivers are not simply valued - they're invaluable. Assists professional nursing staff with direct observation of patients by performing basic non-technical tasks under direction and supervision. Provides secondary assistance with nursing staff for patient bed mobility, positioning and patient transfers. Adheres to department/system procedures and standards. Assures a clean and safe environment in patient room or location of care. Continues to observe patient's environment to ensure safety and comfort. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and staff - demonstrating a positive and caring attitude; demonstrates sensitivity to patient's emotional, social and mental health needs. Recognizes and reports changes in the patient and the environment following procedures and standards to the RN. Contributes to the care planning process by sharing observations regarding patients. Immediately alerts nursing personnel to emergency situations by using call light, phone or staff emergency button. Adhere to standard policies related to infection control, fire life safety and personnel policies. Maintains patient safety by ensuring patients are not left or placed in an unsafe situation. Reports to work within 90 minutes when called into work after being placed on call. Encourage normal sleep/wake cycle. Required Qualifications: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire. Preferred Qualifications: College classes with a pursuit of health care degree Multilingual Why Join Providence?
