We are seeking a talented and experienced Training Manager to join our Caterpillar Construction Industries Services Division (CISD) and develop strategy for Training programs to optimize service sales. The Service Sales Training Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive global training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of our employees, dealers, and customers and will oversee a team of Training Consultants.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Develop and implement global training strategies and programs that align with the division's goals and objectives.

  • Lead a team of instructional designers and trainers to create and deliver best-of-class learning experiences.

  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify gaps and opportunities for skill development.

  • Coordinate and deliver training sessions, workshops, and presentations both in-person and virtually.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and metrics to continuously improve training initiatives.

  • Manage training schedules, logistics, and budgets to ensure efficient and effective delivery of training activities.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and technologies to enhance the quality of training programs.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, dealers, and external training partners.

What You Have

  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training methodologies through roles held in training, learning and development

  • Training operations experience to implement training related tasks and programs

  • Proficiency in learning management systems and e-learning tools

  • Experience with sales planning, playbooks, unique selling proposition, understand of GTM motions etc. from a Sales Enablement Perspective

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong project management and organizational abilities to meet deadlines and hold team members accountable

  • Customer focus and service excellence

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Top Candidates Will Also Have

  • Experience leading teams

  • Degree in Instructional Design, Education, or similar field

  • Experience creating or coordinating Augmented Reality and/or Virtual Reality training

  • Proven experience as a Training Manager in the construction industry

  • Experience with heavy machinery, construction equipment or similar industry

  • Experience developing and managing a successful B2B Sales Training Program

  • Proven experience with the sales enablement methodologies and best practices

  • Sales methodology training such as Command of Message, Force Management Command or similar

Additional Details

  • Global travel required up to 35%

  • Work locations: Dallas, TX; Peoria, IL; Chicago, IL; Cary, NC

  • Caterpillar operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring onsite work weekly
