Caterpillar Defense is seeking a Contract Specialist located in Dallas, Texas . In this role, you will, coordinate the preparation of new/more complex contract assignments and administers existing contracts to support the business.

What You Will Do:

  • Reviewing and drafting contract terms and documents to ensure contract reflects agreed upon requirements.

  • Participating in customer negotiations.

  • Providing guidance to business teams during contract negotiations to meet contract requirements.

  • Conducting and communicating risk evaluation for assigned contract transactions to ensure company business objectives are met.

Risk Management: Level Basic Understanding: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Identifies major categories of business risks.

  • Describes key issues and benefits of risk management practices.

  • Describes potential consequences associated with specific examples of business risks.

  • Makes use of organizational resources for risk avoidance and management.

Accuracy and Attention to Detail : Level Extensive Experience Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.:

  • Evaluates and makes contributions to best practices.

  • Processes large quantities of detailed information with high levels of accuracy.

  • Productively balances speed and accuracy.

  • Employs techniques for motivating personnel to meet or exceed accuracy goals.

  • Implements a variety of cross-checking approaches and mechanisms.

  • Documents key concepts surrounding legal analysis.

  • Applies specific legal analytical research tools and methods for problem solving.

  • Explains how legal concepts are organized and the type of information they provide.

Contracts Review : Level Working Knowledge : Knowledge of the contractual and legal matters related to expenditures (consulting services, maintenance, agreements, acquisitions, outsourcing, etc.); ability to evaluate, interpret and improve the language used in contractual agreements.

  • Maintains files of relevant information for specific customers, vendors, or contracts.

  • Assesses key legal considerations associated with terms and conditions of a contract.

  • Interprets legal documents detailing service provisions by an outside party.

  • Assists in evaluating specific pricing and delivery alternatives while analyzing benefits and drawbacks of each.

  • Monitors compliance with contract specifications and regulations.

Basic Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of FAR/DFAR and Salesforce

  • 5+ years of experience with government contracts (acquire and/or execution)

Degree Requirement

Degree or equivalent experience desired
