Citigroup Apps Support Group Manager in Irving, Texas

Citibank, N.A seeks an Apps Support Group Manager for its Irving, TX location.

Duties: Accountable for management of complex, critical, and large professional disciplinary areas within application support. Lead and direct a team of IT professionals. Apply in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses and geographic regions. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercise control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Be involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area as well as in full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning including, performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations and budget approval. Demonstrate an in-depth understanding on the integration of application support within the overall technology function to achieve objectives. Responsible for vendor relationship management including oversight for all offshore managed service. Improve the service level the team provides to end users, including operational efficiencies, strengthening incident management, problem management and knowledge sharing practices. Guide development teams on application stability and supportability improvements. Formulate and implement a framework for managing capacity, throughput and latency. Define and implement application on-boarding guidelines and standards. Work with various team members while coaching them to maximize their potential. Drive continued cost reductions and efficiencies across the portfolios supported by means of root cause analysis reviews, knowledge management, performance tuning, and user training. Evaluate subordinates' performance and make decisions on pay increases, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions. Participate in business review meetings, relating technology tools strategies to business requirements. Assure adherence to all support process and tool standards and work with management to create new and enhance processes to ensure consistency and quality in “best practices” across the overall support program. Influence and negotiate with senior leaders (across functions). Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrate consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating. Manage and report control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain the standards. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policy.

Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Applications, Computer Science or a related field, and ten (10) years of experience in the job offered, or in a related occupation. Ten (10) years of experience must include: Formulating processes to ensure strict adherence to Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practices with consideration and utilization of Oracle Database, TIBCO Business Works, IBM DataStage, Abinitio, RedHat FUSE, TALEND, MQ, JMS, TIBCO EMS, Unix/Linux, IBM WebSphere, Autosys, Mongo DB, Oracle ORAAS, ECS Containers, Java, IBM Urban Code, Cloud technologies, IBM Connect Direct, FTP and SFTP file transfer technologies used within the Flexcube applications; Responsibility for devising standardized methods and procedures for managing an incident to resolution life cycle (issue ownership, triage and resolution) that integrate in a more structured manner business and technology needs; Conducting design review and software change governance with respect to new and upcoming projects; Designing and executing mature monitoring models covering Hardware, Websphere, Database, Network, Application flows and architecture dashboards using latest global technologies, including Geneos ITRS, SPLUNK, KIBANA and App Dynamics; Working with development and testing partners to accomplish automation of current manual processes, tasks, application health checks, business requests and reports, post implementation verifications and checks, streamlining and standardizing Disaster Recovery plans and procedures; Analyzing problems and situations and making recommendations based on analysis; and Collaborating with product, business, development and infrastructure teams on system, database, Network, TIBCO, WebSphere, and MQ admins to cover different areas of application, including business validation, audit procedures, capturing business requirements within technology framework, capacity and performance management, End of Vendor Support and implementing sustainable, reusable and scalable solutions. 40 hrs./wk.
