Ellwood National Crankshaft Co. Manufacturing Engineer in Irvine, Pennsylvania
Key Responsibilities: Design and Development: Develop manufacturing processes from customer drawings and specifications. Utilize CAD software to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings. Manufacturing and Operations: Understand the crankshaft manufacturing process from forging through final shipment. Monitor the manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and production schedules. Work closely with production team to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during manufacturing. Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all crankshafts meet industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and customer specifications. Perform inspections and testing of products, utilizing measuring tools and equipment. Analyze data and prepare reports on product performance and quality metrics. Engineering drawing reviews to meet manufacturing and quality standards. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate across departments including Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Safety to achieve desired goals. Communicate technical information effectively to stakeholders at all levels. Project Management: Participate in project planning, including scope definition, resource allocation, and timeline management. Monitor project progress and report on key milestones and deliverables. Work alongside teams internal and external to ELLWOOD to complete in a timely and effective manner. Safety: Demonstrate ability to work safely around heavy machinery and equipment. Participate in efforts to maintain OSHA Star VPP status. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Siemens NX). Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and machining techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment or on solo tasks. Strong communication and project management skills. Experience in heavy metal manufacturing is preferred.
