Insight Global Hematology Nurse Day/Night Shift in Duarte, California

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a passionate and experienced Hematology Nurse to join their team onsite in Duarte, CA. This role will be onsite with a 3/12s schedule and the option to work any day of the week on a night OR day shift. The night shift would be from 7:00pm-7:30am, the day shift would be 7:00am-7:40pm. This person must have previous oncology experience and passionate about caring for patients who must receive hematology/BMT treatments. Nurses in the BMT unit are responsible for conducting thorough assessments of patients before, during, and after transplantation. This includes monitoring vital signs, assessing for signs of complications, and managing symptoms related to the transplant process. This role will be focused on: administration of chemotherapies, IVIG, immunotherapies, blood products, clinical trial drugs, non-titratable cardiac drips, antibiotics, antifungals, antivirals, narcotics, and various medications for pain with the use of the PCA pump, standard oral medications, chemotherapies, immunotherapies, etc. This person will also be expected to administer subcutaneous injections with anticoagulants, chemotherapies, colony-stimulating factors as well as care of patients undergoing acute and chronic complications stemming from Graft and Host disease, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia/leukocytosis, infectious processes, sepsis, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, anemia, etc. This role will require accesses of Port-O-Cath, maintains PICC lines, Hickman, and central access devices as well as extensive involvement in care coordination with the team.

Skills and Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in nursing, with a hematology/oncology focus

  • 1-2+ year specifically within beside acute care experience

  • Previous experience with chemotherapy administration

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Current California Registered Nurse license

  • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association - OCN certification

  • ONS certification

  • Master's degree in nursing null
