Eaton Corporation Global Military Aftermarket Sales Director in Irvine, California

Eaton’s Aerospace Group is hiring a Global Military Aftermarket Sales Director. Preferred locations include: Irvine, California; Davenport, Iowa; Beltsville, Maryland; Beachwood, Ohio; Jackson, Mississippi; Orchard Park, New York and Fort Worth, Texas, but other locations near major airports or sites will also be considered. This position requires up to 60% travel.

What you’ll do:

Job Summary

The Global Military Aftermarket Director is responsible for elevating the Global Military Sales to become best-in-class in the aerospace industry. This will be accomplished by outgrowing end-markets by at least 50% and becoming one of the fastest growing aerospace companies in the global military markets. Eaton Aerospace's military aftermarket sales will be approximately $500M in 2024. In this role, you will provide leadership, direction and guidance for a team of fourteen (14) people and ensure that all objectives are clearly defined, aligned, communicated and tracked against actual performance. You will provide direction and guidance to increase Eaton military aftermarket business opportunities globally and be responsible for military budget analysis, uncovering needs and wants of military forces across the world, and for developing relationship with end users. The role assumes responsibilities for identifying, developing and capturing military aftermarket spares and repair business through creation of challenging strategy and execution plans for military aircraft operators world-wide. It will then be your responsibility to maximize conversion of pipeline opportunities to quality order intake and sales. A vital success factor for the role is to develop expert understanding of the military aftermarket. The role will be a highly influential position within the Aftermarket Services Group.

Job Responsibilities

A. Lead all sales activities for global military aircraft operators

B. Aggressively expand the pipeline of new opportunities for sustained growth

C. Establish sales and order intake goals by customer and ensure these are tracked on a monthly basis

D. Promote, coach and execute winning formula’s in the global military aftermarket.

E. Drive growth through agents and channel partners by ensuring tighter relationships, aligned goals and integrated execution of growth opportunities

F. Build outstanding relationships with global military aircraft operators, large global defense contractors and across Eaton Corporation

G. Promote a performance and continuous improvement culture with challenging goals, metrics and review processes where people are held accountable at very high standards

H. Implement process for collecting customer feedback and market knowledge on technology and competition

I. Establish Partnerships with military depots to increase customer intimacy to create growth opportunities and expand relationships

J. Support preparing business plans to target strategic product segments and/or products. Will implement sales channel specific and / or customer specific marketing strategies and sales tools to achieve business plan goals.

K. Ensure daily, weekly, monthly tracking to goals vs. actual performance and have the ability to explain and report on these to senior management

L. Be a strong leader by providing ongoing coaching and development, holding the team accountable, and promoting diversity and inclusion

Qualifications:

Education level required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution

Years and area of experience required:

  • Minimum of 12 years of work experience in sales, engineering and/or marketing field in the aerospace industry

  • MBA preferred

Skills:

Technical knowledge

  • Military background preferred

  • Established relationships with global militaries preferred

Soft skills

  • Demonstrated outstanding leadership skills that can drive teams to outperformance

  • Possess significant initiative and ability to develop, implement, and achieve ambitious stretch goals.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills, writing skills and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others.

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage by influence through solid relationships and process focus

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). The expected annual salary range for this role is $172500.03 - $253000.04 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
