Amazon Accounting Manager in Irvine, California

Description

The Ring team is seeking an Accounting Manager to support technical assessments and operational processes for multiple subscription products at RBKS (Ring/Blink/Key/Sidewalk). The candidate will have technical accounting knowledge of ASC 606, ideally in a SaaS sales environment. This position requires a self-starter who will be responsible for supporting new product launches and expansion efforts, in addition to supporting various aspects of our monthly accounting and reporting process. The role will require you to partner and collaborate with key partners within accounting, finance, tax, tech, legal, and the business in order to determine accounting requirements associated with new product launches. You will be responsible for researching technical accounting issues, writing technical accounting memos, and consulting with accounting policy as needed. You will need strong project management, writing, and communication skills with the ability to make the right recommendations and influence stakeholders in order to maintain a high bar for controllership.

This role will support highly impactful, cross functional, multi-year projects that have high visibility with leadership in the Finance and Operations organizations.

Key job responsibilities

  • Provide technical accounting guidance for the RBKS business, including research and interpretation of accounting standards and memorialize technical accounting position in accounting memos, and analyze and review complex accounting transactions.

  • Understand internal control design concepts to assess the effectiveness of controls and design new effective processes and controls for new business activities.

  • Liaise with corporate accounting and policy teams as needed on technical accounting and financial reporting matters.

  • Execute judgment and ensure the right decisions are reached to accurately report financial results.

  • Provide accounting guidance and often serve as first point of contact for finance and business partners to resolve issues

  • Deal with ambiguity and able to prioritize based on multiple business needs.

  • Escalate risks and issues as necessary to leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, or MBA

  • Experience communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
