Candidates with the ability to prepare journal entries, assist in monthly and year-end closings, fixed asset accounting, and general ledger and bank reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close will be preferred. Consider this role if you want to participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. To be preferred for this position, you will need to have a fundamental understanding GAAP Accounting, Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

How you will make an impact

  • Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

  • Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

  • Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

  • Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

  • In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

  • Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process

  • Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives

  • Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

  • Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision Requirements - Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

    • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

    • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

    • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

    • experienced organizational, written and verbal communication skills

    • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

    • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

    • Ability to meet deadlines

    • 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

    • Background working with account reconciliation

    • Practical knowledge of account reconciliation

    • Previous experience working with month end closings

    • Experience with Adjusting Journal Entries

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

    • Adeptness in Fixed Asset Accounting

    • Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience highly preferred

    • Good understanding of Credit Card Reconciliation

    • Great Plains (GPAC) experience desired

    • Demonstrated knowledge of P-Card

    • Command of Microsoft Great Plains Accounting

    • Foundational knowledge in journal entries

    • General familiarity with capital assets

    • Earlier work involving cash reconciliations

    • Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

    • Current and relevant ERP system experience
