Labcorp Director, Strategic Facility and Construction Project Management in Indianapolis, Indiana

The Director, Facility and Construction Project Management will act as the company representative, leading planning, execution, and commissioning for Labcorp Indianapolis’ new Laboratory, Kit Assembly and Administrative offices ($300mm)

This role may also be asked to perform similar activities for other strategic facilities projects

Job Duties:

  • Lead a multi-disciplined team to

  • Develop end user requirements

  • Develop property and facility design

  • Secure economic incentives

  • Select new site(s)

  • Develop and execute preconstruction and construction plans and schedules with emphasis on establishing and maximizing project controls, on-time and on budget completion.

  • Develop strong working relationship with general contractor personnel, subcontractors, inspectors, and other related parties.

  • Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to address questions or requests, providing periodic updates on relevant issues and topics.

  • Generally versed in jurisdictional and architectural design requirements, applicable codes, as well as all associated development/construction due diligence reporting including, but not limited to, environmental, boundary/ALTA survey, and geotechnical reporting.

  • Occasionally, develop and make presentations to groups, which may include executive leadership, clients and public meetings

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor degree in facilities, engineering or related discipline, or Bachelor degree with 10 years of demonstrated success managing large scale facilities related projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated success in:

  • Developing and executing preconstruction and construction plans and schedules with emphasis on establishing and maximizing project controls, on-time and on budget completion.

  • Developing strong working relationship with general contractor personnel, subcontractors, inspectors, and other related parties.

  • Engaging and collaborating with key stakeholders to address questions or requests, providing periodic updates on relevant issues and topics.

  • Generally versed in jurisdictional and architectural design requirements, applicable codes, and associated development/construction due diligence reporting.

  • Effective interpersonal skills, demonstrated by considering and responding appropriately to the needs and capabilities of different people in different situations, tactfulness, treating others with respect, relating effectively to others when encountering difficult situations, inclusive, and open to providing and receiving feedback.

  • Ability to assess opportunities and make decisions that enable achievement of project and Company objectives.

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, working with others to solve complex issues.

  • High degree of demonstrated organizational skills and problem solving

  • Ability to execute at a high level with significant independence

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks to achieve project and company goals

  • Articulate communication skills – verbal, written, numerical – as relevant to the development process and audience.
