Civil CAD Technician - Indianapolis, IN

We are actively hiring for a Civil CAD Technician to support Storm Water projects taking place in Indianapolis, IN! The site team currently consists of 7 total people, all within Engineering and Drafting/Design, and primarily works on Industrial/Manufacturing, Commercial, and School projects. Since this is a full-service firm, the Civil team's clients are their own coworkers in other departments. Most projects will include a smaller scope, but this team will also work on large-scale, multi-year design projects as-needed. This is a great opportunity for someone who prefers a low-stress work environment with a wide variety in project types. This team puts a larger emphasis on character and personality over technical experience.

Job Responsibilities:

• Preparation of Construction Documents (Engineering Drawings and Specifications), including: Site Layout, Grading, Drainage, Erosion Control, Storm Water Management, Utility Design, and Paving.

• Work with Project Managers and other staff on a variety of project types, including: Schools, Office Buildings, Manufacturing Facilities, Parking Garages, and Multi-Family Housing.

• Transfer information in written, sketched, or electronic format from sources such as Drawing Mark-Ups, Hand Sketches, Survey Data, Aerial Photographs, and Computer Files to Final Plans and Maps.

Job Requirements:

• 3+ years of recent Professional Experience in Civil Site Drafting/Design

• AutoCAD Proficiency (ability to use AutoCAD without training/assistance)

• AutoCAD Civil 3D Experience (creating surface models, alignments, profiles)

• Ability to utilize relevant Field Information and Data for Civil Site Designs

• Familiarity with Construction Details, Schedules, and Bills of Material

Relevant Civil Site Drafting/Design Experience:

• Create points and point groups and work with survey figures

• Create, edit, view, and analyze surfaces

• Create and edit alignments

• Create sites, profiles, and cross-sections

• Create assemblies, corridors, and intersections

• Create grading solutions

• Create gravity-fed and pressure pipe networks

• Use plan production tools to create plan and profile sheets

• This person will have the ability to work on a variety of project types, including (but not limited to) industrial, commercial, and education.

• This team values character and personality over experience, so they are willing to train any gap areas for competent candidates.

• This team has very low turnover, as their employees tend to stay for multiple years and the company doesn't conduct layoffs.

• Standard schedule is M-F from 8am-5pm, but company does offer a flex schedule where employees are welcomed to arrive early or leave late. Candidates can start any time between 7am-9am, and are expected to work 8 hours/day with some overtime as needed.

• Compensation can range between $30-40/hour, depending largely on specific candidate experience.
