Aston Carter Accounting Manager in Indianapolis, Indiana

Aston Carter is hiring an Accounting Manager that will sit 100% remote. This position offers competitive pay with a flexible work schedule.

Job Description:

  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department staff, including the design of an organizational

  • structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives

  • Oversee all general ledger accounting

  • Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner

  • Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly

  • Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed

  • Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis

  • Maintain the chart of accounts

  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system

  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions and records

  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management

  • Manage corporate cash and treasury functions

  • Manage Invoicing and collection of Client Receivables

  • Document accounting processes/procedures

  • Assist business teams with payment processing functions (e.g. payment and adjustment files)

  • Manage unclaimed property escheatment process

  • Manage client loan reserve accounting and overage release process

  • Create efficiencies in operational processes to reduce expenses/increase revenue

  • Provide financial analyses as needed

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA is preferred

  • Full Cycle Accounting in recent role including Position: Accounting Manager transaction posting and financial report creation

  • Prior Experience Managing a direct report (1-3 years minimum)

  • Ability to create and analyze financial reports

  • Excel (pivot tables, formulas, v look ups)
