Job Summary

The HR Coordinator (HRC) is responsible for supporting administrative functions in the Perishable Distribution Center (PDC). The HRC is responsible for participating in the hiring process as assigned. Assist in facilitating and coordinating team member orientation, benefit enrollment, assist in updating and maintaining HR records, filing, and team member communication. Responsible for comprehensive scheduling processes and PDC payroll.

M ajor Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Promote exceptional Customer Service by building and maintaining effective communication and relationships with team members and internal and external vendors and customers

  • Carry out job functions and responsibilities as assigned. Support the application of PDC policies, procedures, and compliance.

  • Strive for flawless execution and hold ourselves accountable.

  • Act with honesty and integrity and lead with the team member in mind to address all concerns and to escalate any concerns, as appropriate.

  • Facilitate new Team Member orientation.

  • Assist with new hire training and communications system.

  • Assist in administrating all personnel paperwork, including completing and processing new hire paperwork, hourly wage increases, hourly promotions, terminations, and attendance tracking.

  • Conduct benefit orientations and facilitates communication of annual benefits open enrollment process.

  • Assist in LOAs processes in coordination with HR Generalist and LOA Specialist and outside vendor; addresses LOA/WC issues (explaining process, answering questions, communicating with Home Office, Lincoln Financial, or Sedgwick, logging incidents into Alert/LPMS)

  • Maintain Team Member personnel and medical files.

  • Answer Team Member questions or directs them to the appropriate company resources.

  • Address non-complex team member relations issues and/or escalates such issues to the assigned.

  • Handle Team Member confidential information with care.

  • Gather ordering information and inputs Ariba orders.

  • Provide needed support for team member recognition and engagement events as assigned by PDC HRM

  • Send Labor Payroll Analysis to Director after 10:00am on Mondays

  • Ensure PDC performance management process, disciplinary process and corresponding logs are maintained.

  • Ensure all legal compliance postings are posted and current.

  • Understand how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for your department.

  • Maintain HR communication boards.

  • Maintain all PDC policies and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.

  • Handle Team Member’s confidential information with privacy and care.

  • Apply Human Resources policies and practices in a fair and equitable manner

  • Display a conscious concern for team member safety

  • Actively support the BJ’s Culture

  • Regular and consistent attendance

  • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

  • Detailed oriented

  • Strong interpersonal and organization skills

  • Prior Human Resources, administrative, or clerical experience is preferred

  • Basic computer knowledge (MS Word, MS Excel, Email) required

  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.

  • Occasionally may need to twist, lift, bend pull, reach and move files or boxes

  • Frequent time sitting at computer

  • May need to work nights and weekends as necessary

  • Sometimes required to lift up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects in excess of 30 pounds with assistance.

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area with frequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $18.99.
