House of Blues Show Accountant in IE Dublin - 7 Park Road, Ireland

The Role

The Show Accountant is a pivotal role in the budgeting, cost control, and settlement/ financial reconciliation of all events.

Working with MCD’s Talent Bookers and the Finance team, you will prepare show costings, oversee and monitor costs and revenues for all events. For larger and outdoor events, you will assist the Finance and Project Management teams with procurement and planning; ensuring that resources are shared and optimised across events and venues.

You will also be responsible for the transfer of show information into the accounts system, the settlement of amounts due to artistes and venues, as well as general reporting on event outcomes. Periodic industry returns and various tax compliance returns also form part of the role.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the position is fully supported by the Accounts team which is at the core of everything which MCD promotes.

The Person

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a part or fully qualified accountant – with excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Possess good project costing/budgeting experience – with strict adherence to deadlines

  • Have a proven track record of technical competence and good commercial aptitude

  • Be strong on interpersonal engagement – working well as part of a team and comfortable in dealing with clients

  • Have good (clear) written and verbal communication skills and ability

  • Be self-motivated and a problem solver – with the ability to manage competing deadlines

  • Have a high level of proficiency with financial software and MS Office

Core Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of show costings/show budgets and undertaking show settlements after the conclusion of the shows and events

  • Historical reporting and review of past shows/events to prepare forecasts on an event-by-event basis

  • The management of individual show budgets and reporting/reconciliation against budget

  • The timely and accurate settlement of shows with artistes, bands, venues, etc.

  • Procurement and identifying/monitoring efficiencies in expenditure – particularly across larger events

  • Ensuring that economies and efficiencies are identified and optimised across events

  • Ownership and validation of show data inputted into the accounts system

  • Periodic compliance reporting and related activities
