We are the Windows & Web Experience (WWE) Platform org. This org is responsible for innovating, building and operating the backend infrastructure at unprecedented scale, agility and efficiency needed for Web Experiences like Bing search, Ads, MSN news, Edge browser, Bing and Azure Maps, and many more consumer experiences like Shopping, Multimedia, eSports, Travels, Locals Info, Weather, etc. and serves 100s of millions of daily active users around the world with high availability and performance.

We have recently released a new Crowd Intelligence Platform, with an ambition to scale to all products in WWE (Bing, Maps, Edge, Windows Feeds etc.) and beyond providing necessary infrastructure to schedule & distribute many scenarios for validation. The Crowd Intelligence Platform team builds platform products to engage Microsoft Partner Teams, Vendors and Crowd source Judges to run quality validations for all Microsoft web-based applications. Over 40+ web products (Bing, Maps, Edge, Windows Feeds etc.) in Microsoft are currently using the platform. Our vision is to deploy the platform for all MS Web Products and then go beyond globally as an Azure service. The team is continually engaged in building features to scale existing products and to bring more efficiency for all users (Vendors, Partners and Judges) using LLM and co-pilot.

The platform leverages the power of crowdsourcing to auto generate a user perceived quality score representative of the health of the products, to enable teams to be in control of their feature quality and take pride in their product. We run 10s of thousands of scenarios every day for both webpages and apps and connect with relevant judges globally across multiple crowdsourced platforms. In addition, the service includes capabilities to capture the validation process for future debuggability, built in intelligence to target high fidelity judges, ability to dynamically update the pricing for these tasks and support real time routing across platforms to optimize for cost. Responsive dashboard, with real time data ingestion is another fundamental capability, to ease consumption of data by everyone in the organization.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who is passionate about managing group of Software engineers and make this a core service for WWE.

A suitable candidate is expected to have experience of managing and leading people towards goals. Understanding crowdsourced platforms will be a plus. This role requires quick prototyping, narrowing down design options to deliver on the vision in collaboration with a strong team of software engineers and partners.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or related discipline

• 12+ years of software engineering industry experience

• 4+ years of leading a product towards completion

• Experience with architecting and building reliable, distributed services

• Demonstrated problem solving and prioritization skills

• Good communication and collaboration skills
