The AI Platform organization at Microsoft builds the end-to-end Azure AI stack/PaaS and is core to Azure’s innovation and differentiation, as well as all of Microsoft’s flagship products, from Office to Teams, to Xbox. We are the team building Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, Cognitive Services, and the global Azure AI infrastructure for running the largest AI workloads on the planet.

Within AI Platform, the Cognitive Services team empowers developers and data scientists around the world and of all skill levels to easily add AI capabilities to their apps.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with data scientists and researchers to deliver high quality machine learning models

• Collaborate effectively with other engineers to build and maintain distributed machine learning systems

• Demonstrate keen attention to detail and data interpretation skills to effectively monitor, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues in a live site system

• Demonstrate deep expertise in Azure services and guide large-scale solutions on the platform

• Influence technical direction at an organizational level

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

• 3+ years of technical engineering experience with cloud services

• 3+ years experience in designing and leading the development of distributed systems

• Knowledge of containerization technologies (i.e. Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes)

• Ability to influence technical direction at an organizational level

• Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting technical concepts

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience in designing and leading the development of distributed systems

• 3+ years technical engineering experience with Deep Neural Network training and inference - experience in one or more deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, Tensorflow, ONNX, etc.)
