About the Role:

The primary goals for PI Global Solution Architects is to lead global practices and strategies for Operations business to enabled business growth and execute strategy. Primary goals to have industry templates, best practices, cloud /SaaS enablement and collaboration with Sales, Partners and Product Management.

This role will have responsibility to define the best practices, templatization, execution methodologies and skills development for solutions based on PI. The aim of the Architects and leads is to create templates, architecture and deployment approach, feature demos ensuring consistency in solution deployment globally by AVEVA, partners and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Given a technical solution description, create/maintainintegrated libraries of PI System Asset Framework templates across a broad portfolio of asset classes and use cases.This includes attribute templates, event frame templates, analytics templates and notification rule templates for the PI system.

  • Be a champion of functional testing of PI System templates for accuracy, completeness and consistency.

  • Provide documentation of PI system template configurations to achieve the necessary amount of instruction to each of the user personas for PI systems in industrial settings.

  • Create/maintain Industry templates for repeatable fast deployments by SI and Partners

  • Define Best Practices for Technical Solution Architecture where PI is part of a bigger delivery project

  • Review and approve complex technical solutions and architectures

  • Expand PI Software best practices, training and audit in SI Partners and Strategic alliance partners.

  • Driving standardization on product integration within AVEVA and partner products

  • Work with success services & presales teams to establish best practices and create demos for new industry areas

  • Collaborate with technical delivery teams, product management and R&D to identify templates, tools and solutions that optimize technical delivery tasks through pre-configuration, automation or reusability.

  • Prepare, execute and track action plans to achieve the published Practice Maturity level for the Global Practice.

  • Facilitate training of other personnel (internal and external) on new templates as well as usage of the templates.

  • Work with other practices and solutions contiguous to PI such as Predictive Analytics, UOC, Process Simulation, Business analytics etc. to define best practices for integration with PI

  • Engagement on strategic projects working with delivery team to define the solution, develop architecture and guide through the implementation.

  • Continuous learning of broader AVEVA portfolio and define PI based cross portfolio solutions.

  • Ramp up skills in broader delivery team and partner network on new cross portfolio solutions.

  • Develop and implement a knowledge sharing program for technical delivery resources.

Required skills & qualifications

  • Should possess following skills:

  • Strong organizational skills to configure complex data structures. Project experience with PI Vision, Analytics, Web Development and Security Models

  • Full working knowledge of the PI System product suite (PIDA, PIAF, PIVision). Extensive experience in implementing (OSIsoft) PI software

  • Comfortable working on very large efforts that require careful planning and attention to detail.

  • Comfortable working behind the scenes designing data structure for the future state with a clear vision of the end state.

  • Good appreciation for what Full-Scale looks like for a PI system in a large multi-facility enterprise. Includes scaling widely to many asset classes and scaling vertically from factory floor to corporate leadership.

  • Experience designing and implementing streaming calculations in PI templates with attention to best practices for performance and usefulness to operations team users.

  • Engineering background in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is preferred.

  • Domain knowledge of heavy industrial equipment operations such as large rotating equipment assets and fixed equipment such as pressure vessels and heat exchangers. Bachelor’s degree or higher in any engineering or technical discipline

  • Knowledge of maintenance or manufacturing and process industry domain in any industry will be a plus

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Worked with cross functional, customers and creative solution

  • Proactive attitude in the following area: a. Seeking help when needed. b. Actively make suggestions for improvements, new features or similar. c. Bring your own opinions to the table, both positive and negative, and in a constructive manner.

  • Highly organized and analytical with strong attention to detail.

  • Global travel if required.
