FlexStaff Nursing Manager (Ambulatory Surgery Center) - BSN and RN License required in Huntington, New York

We are looking for a full-time Nursing Manager for an ambulatory surgery center located in Huntington, NY

This is a permanent, full-time job, Monday - Friday, 7am-5pm.

In this role you would be responsible for coordination and direction of the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) and PACU, Pre-Admission Testing, Central Sterile Department and Perfusion in the delivery of nursing care services related to the perioperative adult and older adult patients.

An ideal candidate would have at least 5 years nursing experience with a leadership experience as the Assistant Manager level or equivalent, such as charge RN, team lead, council chair, project manager, or above.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of accredited Nursing school BSN.

  • Licensed and currently registered as a Professional Nurse in New York State required.

  • Basic Life Support and ACLS required.

  • Endoscopy ambulatory surgery center experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Building and maintaining safe policies and patient protocol to ensure efficient operations of Endoscopy services.Manage and develop a staff of employees through recruiting, selecting, orienting, coaching and training employees.

  • Communicate job expectations and holds individuals accountable for results.

  • Establish strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service and operational information. This includes the identification of trends, options, to recommend a course of action and establishing objectives and goals.

  • Lead others in the achievement of tasks and procedures that deliver on individual and departmental strategy, goals and tactics.

  • May oversee/recommend the spending related to a department budget but sign-off authority generally requires more senior level approval.

  • Provide oversight, training and direction to the employees in the operating unit in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff to ensure departmental compliance.

  • Oversee new employee onboarding, providing career development planning and opportunities.

  • Lead employees to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.

  • Provide effective performance feedback through a formal performance review process, employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary.

  • Work with department head to recommend appropriate staffing levels.

  • Maintain employee work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off, telecommuting, cover for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling.

  • Communicate information through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and appropriate email, and regular interpersonal communication.

  • Assist in budget requirement for unit

  • All other duties as assigned.

The salary range for this position is $130,000-$135,000/year
