Air Force Materiel Command CUSTODIAL WORKER in Humarock, Massachusetts

Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Fourth Cliff Rec Area. Applications will be reviewed bi-weekly until announcement closes. This position is flexible, working 0-40 hrs/wk as needed. Work involves light physical effort, using vacuum cleaners, mops, buffers; continually standing, bending, stooping, and reaching; frequently lifting; frequently pushing carts loaded with dirty laundry/wastepaper; occasionally lifting/carrying items weighing up to 20 lbs. Responsibilities The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of simple cleaning & disinfecting tasks associated with Fourth Cliff Recreation Area (FCRA) operations. Cleans FCRA efficiencies, chalets, cottages and recreation hall which includes kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, stairways, administration facilities, laundry rooms, bathhouse and other assigned FCRA areas that may include pavilions and event spaces. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using brooms, mops, lightweight vacuum cleaners, and lightweight floor scrubbers and buffers. Dusts, waxes, and polishes furniture. Cleans and sanitizes guest room common areas, tables, counter tops, appliances, cooking utensils and dishes. Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes bathroom facilities including toilets, bathtubs, and showers. Empties wastebaskets. Polishes door knobs and other metal fixtures. Washes walls, windows, and blinds that can be reached unassisted or using stepping stools. Collects, sorts and packs soiled linen and transfers the soiled linen to the laundry room to be picked up by a contractor. Receives clean linen and delivers it where directed. Using the telephone system updates room status, occupancy, and checkouts. Cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls. Cleans mirrors, sinks, and water fountains. Dusts ledges, woodwork, and furniture. Replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, soap, and other complimentary sundry items. Notes condition of facilities and reports to supervisor broken windows, water leaks, clogged drains, and other conditions requiring maintenance. Lavatories and restrooms maintained are those in customer cabins and also those in beach-front bathhouse. Keeps a stock of cleaning materials and equipment needed to do the work. Performs other related duties as assigned.
