Hisco Inc. Senior Accountant in HOUSTON, Texas

Summary/Purpose of the Position:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records related to TestEquity. The position will have significant interaction with other departments, business disciplines and international operations will be required by this individual.

Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:

  • Monitor accounting activities and review related manual journal entries at month end close.

  • Manage project accounting activities such as revenue and cost recognition and work in progress, unbilled and deferred revenue control.

  • Perform account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.

  • Work with the Payroll team on payroll entries and its appropriate classification on the Income Statement.

  • Review various financial statements analytics and provide explanations for related fluctuations as required.

  • Provide business partnership support.

  • End to end Full cash reconciliation of multiple bank statement and working on appropriate journal entries.

  • Assist with internal and external audits.

  • Assist with continuous improvements initiatives as required.

  • Actively participate and initiate process improvements to organizational processes.

  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors that supports continued growth and development and company mission and values.

  • Develop/implement more efficient accounting policies and methods

    Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • BS/BA in accounting required. CPA or equivalent is preferred.

  • 6+ years of experience in a mixed of audit and accounting. Experience in Distribution is preferred.

  • Proficiency in US GAAP and technical accounting required.

  • Full Cash Reconciliation experience required.

  • Very proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and financial software applications.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Confidence in challenging the status quo; always on the lookout for continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills.
