Job Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for all matters pertaining to the project and project execution in accordance with the contract and project’s HSSE, quality, schedule, risk management and financial goals. This individual has bottom line responsibility for the financial and technical success of the project, is responsible for all deliverables of the work produced and is accountable to McDermott Management and to the client for the project team's performance. The Project Manager must be intimately familiar with and manage work to seven baseline documents: Contract, Scope of Work, Execution Plan, Schedule, Estimate, Business and Profitability Plan and Risk Management Plan.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Manage Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC)Projects up to $250 MM (min)
May manage a discrete portion on a larger Project.
Responsible for Management and Execution of the project
Responsible for Strategic Leadership of the Project
Represents McDermott in front of the Client and is responsible for client satisfaction
Has bottom line responsibility for all aspects of the performance of the project (technical, schedule, costs, quality and safety) - Ensures projects compliance with BMS policies and legal requirements.
Responsible for delivering the project at as-sold Gross Profit and responsible for accurate forecasting.
Responsible for Management of all phases of projects from the Home Office through the Site
Delivering the Project in accordance with the approved budget and baseline schedule at Site - Ensuring the Project activities adhere to the requirements of the Quality Management System at Site
Ensuring the Project activities adhere to the requirements of the HSE Management System at Site and promotes a strong safety culture among the team
Oversees the planning and resource allocation of personnel throughout the project at Site.
Define role, responsibilities and authorities for reportees on the Project
Effectively delegates authority and responsibility at the Home Office and the Site
Ensures that the Main Contract and Subcontracts are correctly administered, including agreement to the variations to the scope of work
Establish & maintain relationships with the Client & Subcontractors at Site
Drives the resolution of issues or conflicts between departments or with the Client
Monitors and manages the project risk profile with the assistance of relevant departments at Site
Ensure compliance with the contract in all aspects at Site
Liaises with the Client and key subcontractors as required at Site
Arranges and attends meetings with the Client and subcontractors as required
Ensures that all written documentation required under the contract is prepared and submitted on time and in accordance with contract requirements at Site
Ensures that all QA and HSE policies and practices are properly administered and executed
Ensures that all personnel training requirements are met
Ensures that the Contract is properly administered, especially protection of our contractual rights, and maximization of the opportunities, including negotiation of variations to the scope of work at Site
Oversees the management of change
Ensures robust decision-making process is utilized and recorded
Overseeing contingency planning and lessons learnt for the Engineering, Fabrication, Construction and Installation scope
Represents McDermott in all meetings - Ensures that the close out activities are properly performed, and documents submitted as required by the contract and McDermott Close out Procedure
Other responsibilities include executing and managing McDermott's Lessons Learned program at the project level, preparation of internal and external project reports; and representing the Company and the project at all meetings
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Minimum 5 years experience in a Project Manager role
Experience in managing Hybrid and Lump Sum Turn Key Contracts
Experience with modular fabrication
Prefer domestic and/or international experience as a Project Manager in a global EPC Company executing contracts in industries such as oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical, power, nuclear and energy transition market
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Science.
PMP considered a plus
Post Graduate Management qualification an advantage
Proven track record in successful leadership of projects (in excess of $100million) a pre-requisite
Technical knowledge of multiple aspects of project delivery including engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, construction, project controls and contract management
Effective communicator with client, executive management, project team, and venders - Skilled negotiator Company
