MD Anderson Cancer Center Postdoctoral Fellow - Radiation Physics (Kry Lab) in Houston, Texas

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in outreach physics reporting to Dr. Stephen Kry to support radiotherapy audit programs and clinical trial support through IROC and/or the Radiation Quality Assurance Lab. The candidate will support on-site radiation therapy reviews of hospitals, IROC's radiation dosimetry program, QA of IT infrastructure to support various radiotherapy audit programs, refinement and implementation of a brachytherapy audit program, and other implementation projects to support and enhance RT programs. The candidate will also be provided with an opportunity to take the medical physics certificate program.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The candidate is expected learn the fundamentals of medical physics through didactic content in the certificate program as well as on-the-job training. The candidate is expected to learn the operational aspects of IROC and Radiation Quality Assurance Lab activities, including techniques and specific methodologies to audit and/or evaluate the quality of radiation therapy practice. The candidate will also learn the practice of supporting clinical trials.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The eligible candidate will have a PhD in the physical sciences. Preference will be given to someone with experience in a field related to medical physics. The candidate must be able to work with and coordinate with other people across many different disciplines (to coordinate project roll-out across groups). The candidate must have excellent attention to detail and must be able to balance research/development activities with routine audit support activities.

POSITION INFORMATION

MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 (https://trainees.mdanderson.org/apply/mdaPostdoctoralFellowStipendFY24.pdf) . depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience. MD Anderson trainee compensation also includes:
