Job Description

Plan and direct the operational activities of the plant. Scope includes direct and/or indirect responsibility for all functions at each location: Workforce, Financial Performance, Materials, Planning, Procurement, Maintenance, Production, Facilities and Manufacturing Engineering, while working with responsible parties to ensure safety, quality and customer related metrics are supported. The purpose of the position is to oversee production of quality products while promoting employee safety and environmental responsibility, minimizing costs and maximizing the financial strength of the organization. This will be achieved by meeting gross margin targets and managing cash drivers to meet divisional objectives. Incumbent is responsible for capital planning and implementation.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains overall financial responsibilities/expectations for plant.

• Meets with members of Senior Leadership to discuss overall planning for facilities, equipment, and manpower to operate the plant.

• Implements Corporate and Facility policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure facility expectations are being met.

• Champions the HSE and Quality Programs ensuring that there is a safe clean workplace, and that quality product are being achieved.

• Consistently meet production schedules ensuring timely shipment of product to our customer base.

• Provides overall Leadership duties to the Operations group at the facility.

• Works with Senior Leadership to set the goals and objectives of the facility and implements plans to meet those goals and objectives.

• Responsible for maintaining all equipment and assets in good operational order.

• Consistently communicates with direct reports to ensure that Corporate and facility goals and objectives are being followed and met.

• Responsible for participating in Management review meetings to ensure Quality programs are operating in the most efficient and accurate way.

• Assist in the employee development of direct reports and employees through performance feedback discussions and one on one discussion.

• Assists in the determination of future equipment needs or improvements and makes recommendations for the justification of capital expenditures for equipment, buildings, etc.

• Establishes effective means of control to achieve objectives of the Facilities.

• Assists through manufacturing services, the evaluation, selection, recommendation, and justification of capital expenditures for equipment, buildings, etc.

• Maintain and monitor budgets for facility.

• Manage inventory to achieve planned inventory turns and address excess or obsolescence.

• Manage quality program, maintain related certifications as applicable, and drive continuous improvements.

• Develop and implement Lean Initiatives while sustaining gains from previous Lean events.

• Plan and lead cost reduction efforts.

• Effectively Lead personnel. Plan and staff appropriately.

• Execute strategy deployment and KPI's.

• Assure maintenance of equipment and facilities.

• Achieve output and profitability targets.

• Assure that production plans and schedules are established and managed to meet customer promise dates.

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science in Management, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Previous experience as a Plant Manager in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

• Excellent communicator that exhibits strong critical thinking capabilities with the ability to multi-task daily.

• Strong Financial Acumen and understanding of controls.

• Broad knowledge of machining, assembly practices.

• Experience with ERP systems.

• Demonstrate high analytical thinking and sound judgment.

• Full understanding of production planning strategies.

• Results oriented person that continues to drive for excellence

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit at a computer; use hands to type or key, use a mouse, or feel; talk, and hear.

• The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms.

• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• Factory environment with large range in temperature changes and noise.

• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.

• Walking throughout the day up to eight (8) hours.

• Bending/Stooping repetitively throughout the day.
