EOG Resources, Inc. Manager, Financial Reporting in Houston, Texas
Preparation and submission of SEC filings (Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, Form 8-K,etc.), earnings releases, and internal reporting packages Technical accounting research (U.S. GAAP and SEC Regulations) and preparation of technical memorandums Review contracts to determine proper accounting treatment Identify and implement necessary updates in financial reporting practices to adapt to evolving business operations and updates in technology Collaborate with Investor Relations answering questions/providing information Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley is maintained for responsible areas Preparation of retirement plan financial statements, FERC filings, and filings with governmental agencies External audit coordination and maintaining consistent, effective communication with the external audit team
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in accounting - Master's degree preferred (CPA designation required). Managerial experience required. 8+ years of total experience in accounting with an emphasis on SEC reporting. 4+ years of experience in public accounting preferred. Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and SEC disclosure requirements for public companies. Keen attention to detail and strong ability to analyze and interpret financial data. A high sense of urgency, enthusiasm, strong initiative, and the ability to juggle multiple projects. Deep understanding of ASC 932 and ASC 842. Ability to perform technical accounting research and documentation. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with a proven track record of successful teamwork, leadership, and independent project management. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Hyperion and Workiva. Oil and Gas experience strongly preferred. Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
