Schlumberger DELFI Cloud Support Engineer in Houston, Texas

The DELFI Cloud Operations Support Engineer (L2) role positioned squarely in the Central Cloud Operations team is responsible for ensuring DELFI Applications and Services across the entire D&I Portfolio are delivered, maintained, and operated to the highest standard – specifically ensuring applications and services do not breach agreed service levels with customers both internal and external.

This role is effectively split into three core functions, the first one is Incident, Request and Problem Management.

whereby engineers will have to:

• Identify, Diagnose and Troubleshot complex issues with web applications, backend services and IaaS / PaaS deployments across Azure and Google cloud products.

• Manage incidents from identification to resolution, taking the lead as a subject matter expert in all major incidents impacting customers in one or more DELFI services.

• Provide a key technical escalation route between our field and L1 support organization and

L3/Engineering – specifically tasked with identifying functionality problems, reliability issues and bugs.

• Provide operational support to engineering teams who require DNS setup, SSL Certificates, Active Directory, ZFS, NetApp, Linux, Azure Subscriptions, and other fundamental artifacts for new products entering production.

• Translate technical issues and complex problems into prepared digestible material for nontechnical management up to and including president level.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing - Operation task on day-to-day basis. i.e., analysing the logs and perform troubleshooting activity with the user. Should also be aware about ITIL process.

  • Develop and implement – We are into operations; hence the scope of development is bit low, but we implement new process / playbook based on our needs and requirement.

  • Keep abreast of all – Azure Cloud Platform, many times we have observed people consider Azure DevOps and Azure Cloud Platform as single solution, but no its 2 different identities. Our focus is to get someone who has Azure Cloud Platform knowledge.

  • Monitor – We monitor the tenant through our customized healthcheck runs. We also monitor incidents through PagerDuty.

  • Interface with Azure, Microsoft & Linux based technology.

  • Build an effective work environment and make it a better place with no errors.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree and qualification level. Bachelor’s degree

  • Any Azure Cloud Certification i.e., AZ-900 / AZ-104 / AZ-304 / AZ-303 will be considered as value added.

  • 5 Years of specific experience in Azure, GCP, Windows, Linux, Active Directory, Storage.

  • Knowledge of specific systems. – Knowledge on Powershell / Python language. Basic knowledge on Azure Devops will be considered as a value-added service.

  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship.

The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note that the compensation and benefits listed below are only applicable to successful candidates who are hired onto local United States payroll.

  • At SLB, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at/near the top of the range. The anticipated salary range for this position is $100 - $118 annual salary.
