We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Advisor IT Systems within our IT Department group based in Houston, Texas or The Woodlands, TX.

  • Provide strong support for P2 Merrick Suite (ProCount, Carte, eVIN, Field Operator)
  • Proactively identify opportunities and implement enhancements to improve system and business processes to support the goals and objectives of Oxy.
  • Strong understanding of Field Operations and Production Accounting systems
  • Maintain a strong business, and technology understanding and awareness of trends, opportunities, and issues.
  • Continuous engagement and communication with business stakeholders
  • Foster a climate that supports relationship building and collaboration between business and IT 
  • Apply good data security practices across applications and domains
  • Support and comply with all audit requests, controls, and procedures
  • Support and stay up to date on P2 Prod Operations products by attending meetings and demos. 
  • Develop documentation, Knowledge Articles, Standards, Best Practices, and Procedures as applicable
  • Designing and maintaining business-focused analytics and reports.
  • Collaborate with both Operations to identify opportunities to enhance reporting capabilities in Carte.
  • Working with Oxy IT and external service providers to implement system or database updates.
  • Encourage business adoption through regular training and feedback sessions.  
  • Engage in monthly meetings and actively communicate with operations teams
  • Work collaboratively with other teams such as IT, business stakeholders and data management to analyze Oxy data and make corrections as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality of data used for analysis and business making decisions.
  • Keen eye for details and ability to identify errors or inconsistencies in the data
  • Coordinate the communications of data points coming from the field into the Field Data Capture system and ProCount.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field
  • At least 10 years’ experience in a software or IT capacity ideally supporting or developing IT systems related to Production Operations (ideally P2 Suite of applications)
  • Strong attention to detail and quick problem-solving abilities
  • Database Management maintaining large databases while ensuring data integrity and quality.
  • Technical skills:
    • ASP.net
    • SQL / Oracle Database, Transact SQL, SSIS/SSRS
    • Azure Dev Ops
    • Power BI
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, self-direction, and strong organizational skills
  • Proven communication skills with demonstrated collaborations with business partners, team members and other stake holders.
  • Ability to contribute to ever improving maturity of software development life cycles
  • Extensive knowledge of Oil & Gas Operations business
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience focused on process improvement and digital transformation efforts in applications support
  • Knowledge/Experience of process improvement tools (Dynamics, SharePoint, PowerApps)
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and reach closure within established timeframes
  • Good verbal/written communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Excellent business skills and strong ethics
  • Very strong Customer/Stakeholder focus
  • Outstanding team player with strong interpersonal skills to effectively work within a multi-disciplinary group to achieve project related goals
  • Strong ability to work effectively and coordinate activities across various teams

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiar with SCRUM/ Agile methodology
  • Prior experience in Well Life Cycle or Field Operations
  • Field Operations experience
