SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for oversight and leadership of the emergency management program at Penn State Health and College of Medicine. Reporting to the Director, System Emergency Management and Business Continuity, focuses on the planning and execution of the program across the health system emergency management and business continuity structure. Develop policies, plans, frameworks, methodologies, and tools that build upon the current program and advance the preparedness of the health system. This position will work closely with entity leadership, clinical and non-clinical departments, the College of Medicine and stakeholders across Penn State Health. Assist with programmatic alignment within the health system. Engage stakeholders from across the health system to build a sustained operational readiness, identify risks, and quantify their impacts to business operations. Align key stakeholders around cost-effective proactive and reactive strategies that are prioritized and implemented.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, Emergency Planning, Disaster Planning, Business Continuity, or a related field required.

  • Minimum four (4) years' experience in Emergency Management required.

  • Minimum two (2) years' management experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Academic Medical Center or Health System experience preferred.

  • FEMA Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) preferred.

  • FEMA Continuity of Operations Manager preferred.

  • FEMA EMI - Professional Development Series certificate of completion preferred.

  • FEMA Emergency Management Institute - Advanced Professional Series preferred.

  • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) preferred.

  • DRII Certified Healthcare Provider Business Continuity Professional preferred.
