ManTech Business Analyst Lead in Herndon, Virginia

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Performance Metrics Analyst to join our team in Herndon, VA .

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for applying full data science lifecycle to help the Program Management Office (PMO) manage contract key performance indicators (KPI).

  • Develop a business understanding of the KPIs.

  • Engage in data mining, data cleaning, and data exploration activities, identifying key features to construct meaningful models.

  • Employ sophisticated analytic methods to create predictive and prescriptive models.

  • Implement data visualizations to help both technical and non-technical people gain insights on problems.

  • Communicate predictions, trends, analysis and associated recommendations on cost-effective changes to PMO.

  • Build tools to automate repetitive work.

  • Engage with other Performance Metrics Analysts for quality assurance (QA) on work products; may provide QA support to the work products of others from time to time as well.

  • Provide support to ad-hoc requests from IT managers for data or visualizations to support IT execution activities – may include reports of areas where corrective action is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.

  • General knowledge of Enterprise IT operations.

  • Strong mathematical background.

  • Power user level knowledge of the following tools is preferred. (must be willing to gain competency on tools within 6 months of start).

  • Microsoft Excel (use of formulas, pivot tables, charts/graphs).

  • Service Now.

  • Tableau.

  • Solid communications skills (both written and verbal).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar and 9+ years of relevant experience. 4+ additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.

  • Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language (examples of acceptable high-level languages to meet this requirement include: python, R, SAS, java, C++).

  • Basic understanding of and proficiency in SQL.

  • Critical thinking / problem solving skills.

  • Naturally curious, willing to acquire and apply additional skills to solve business problems.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Must be able to move/traverse within and between buildings and offices.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
