Southbridge Care Homes Food Service Manager in Hensall, Ontario
Southbridge Care Homes is currently looking to expand our Food Services department. We are looking for a Food Services Manager to join our enthusiastic team. Reporting to the Executive Director the Food Services Manager is responsible for managing and handling all the operations of the food service department and ensures to satisfy the nutritional needs of our beloved residents and will be responsible to handle inventory, meal plans and kitchen operations of the location.
Duties and Responsibilities
Managing our team of Dietary professionals and ensuring they are supported.
Ensuring the team is operating within internal and external guidelines and protocols.
Ensuring consistency and Food Safety Standards throughout each meal service
Building a team of passionate and skillful professionals, including hiring and training
Planning and executing on a nutrition plan for our residents’ individual needs
Ensuring food is handled in a safe manner, including proper storage and labelling.
Executing proper food service in relation to internal and external guidelines and protocols.
Qualifications
Post-Secondary education in Food and Nutrition Management
Safe Food Handling certificate
Registered member with the CSNM
Understanding of protocols and guidelines surrounding food service and handling
Experience managing Dietary services in the long-term care industry an asset
Demonstrated experience leading a team
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
One or more years of Kitchen operations experience preferably in long-term care setting is considered as an asset.
Passion for providing quality care to residents in a long-term care setting.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to stand for long periods of time and the ability do moderate to heavy lifting.
Demonstrated ability to be a team player.
Nice to have excellent organizational and time management skills.
Nice to have strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
