Shift: Mon-Fri Days

Location: 50 HOSPITAL DRIVE, Hendersonville, 28792 Suite 1B

The role you’ll contribute: Under general direction has authority, responsibility, and accountability for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of wound care throughout the agency. Provide direct patient care and education to selected patients. Provide for staff development in areas of expertise.

· Demonstrate critical thinking and independent decision making; utilizing policies and procedures, standards of care and data analysis.

· Develop and coordinate education plans appropriate to the learning style of the patient; patient family, and interdisciplinary care team members.

· Manage resources which promote cost effective, efficient operations and positive outcomes.

· Performs comprehensive patient assessments, anticipating potential care problems and prioritizing care needs to effectively provide optimum care.

· Document patient’s plan of care and interventions according to policy. Initiates and communicates change in patient care delivery based on continual evaluation of progress according to outcome-based care plan.

· Initiate collaboration with physician and interdisciplinary team members by effective communication of the pertinent patient information to ensure continuity of care.

· Responsible for product recommendations in areas of expertise.

· Maintain records and statistics reflecting role performance; participate in agency wide committees and projects as indicated.

· Establishes and maintains a history of regular attendance, makes appropriate use of Paid Time Off (PTO) and observes departmental call-in procedures for absence; establishes and maintains punctual work habits. Exhibits timely arrival and departure and dependable time habits including meal and other breaks.

· Attends and participates in mandatory facility-wide and department training / meetings as required (including but not limited to AdventHealth Learning Network (ALNs (AdventHealth Learning Network)) safety training, etc.). Is able to demonstrate and apply knowledge of fire, safety, security, and disaster procedure regulations as presented in orientation, outlined in the safety manual, and as pertains to each work area.

· Required to respond to emergency situations (i.e., disasters, hurricanes, etc.) by reporting to department and staying until the crisis is over or your position is covered by incoming personnel. This is a mandatory requirement. Refusal to respond may result in termination.

· Contributes to the successful achievement of department-stated goals and objectives and will facilitate staff cohesiveness and communication.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

· Associate degree in Nursing

· Two years nursing experience in last 4 years

· Accredited credential in Wound / Ostomy / Continence Nursing

· Basic Life Support – CPR certification

· Registered Nurse

· Wound / Ostomy competencies
