[DESCRIPTION OF WORK [Under the direct supervision of the Gas Crew Chief, performs a variety of skilled and unskilled work in maintenance, construction and repair of gas department mains, structures and customer service lines. Primarily does welding and PE fusion on gas mains, structures and service lines. - Assists with the layout, assembly, installation, maintenance, repair and removal of underground/above ground natural gas distribution mains, services, equipment and meter activity.

``` - Does arc, Oxy/acetylene welding and PE plastic fusion for gas department activities and other departments as needed. - Measures, marks, grinds and aligns pipes for cutting, welding, and fusion. - Tap mains and services using TD Williams equipment. - Ensures work crew installations meet all standards, regulations and codes - Ensures safety of work crew and general public - Ability to recognize, react and report any abnormal operating conditions. - Knowledge, skills and ability to do all tasks required in a Pipefitter job description.
