Job Description:

*This position can be based in either Boston, MA, or East Hartford, CT.

As a member of this team you will contribute to CDM Smith's success by;

-Working as a Project Technical Leader for highway design projects and pursuits throughout New England.

-You will be responsible for coordination and management of the technical content of projects including driving the technical vision of the end product, ensuring the technical accuracy of the work product, and ensuring the right technical skill sets are on the project at the correct time.

-Developing and mentoring technical project staff, and coordinating all aspects of the project with our clients.

-Developing project design criteria, alignments, construction plans, construction specifications, and cost estimates.

-Writing technical reports.

-Providing quality reviews of highway design projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.

-Professional engineering (PE) license.

-7 years of related experience.

-Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

-Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

-PE in Connecticut or Massachusetts & ability to get reciprocity.

-Strong background with CTDOT and/or MassDOT Municipal roadway/highway design projects.

-Experience in task management and delivering roadway/highway design projects from initiation through final design.

-Working knowledge in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads.

-Ability to present in front of a large group.

-Strong communication and technical writing skills.

-Progressive experience in providing day-to-day direct oversight of transportation planning and design projects.

-Experience developing project design criteria, alignments, construction plans, construction specifications, and cost estimates.

-Ability to write technical reports.

-Ability to provide quality reviews of highway design projects.

-Experience completing Hydrologic and Hydraulic analysis of drainage systems and design of stormwater management.

Background Check and Drug Testing Information:

CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as “CDM Smith”) reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions. Pay Range Minimum:

$92,296

Pay Range Maximum:

$156,899

Additional Compensation:

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.

Work Location Options:

Hybrid Work Options may be considered for successful candidate.
