Hartford Fire Insurance Company in Hartford, CT has the following opening for a Sr. Data Engineer.

Summary of Duties: Develop complex data assets that support decision making via prototyping, data discovery, profiling utilizing Informatica, B2B, PL/SQL and Hadoop. Perform root cause analysis and resolution of any business and technical issues. Collaborate with business partners and Performance Analytics teams to develop requirements for data assets, prototyping and data delivery. Support development of training materials and perform end-user training to ensure a high degree of customer engagement. Participate in the development of the implementation plan as a subject matter expert. Design and implement and oversee ETL processes. Engineering and operationalizing a next generation analytics solution suite using Cloud AWS and Big Data technologies. Analyze existing systems and programming logic to provide more efficient machine operations or to identify difficulties and revise the logic and procedures. Primary technical point of contract for interaction with other cross-functional units and teams – on and offshore development teams. Fully remote, reports to Company HQ Address: 690 Asylum Ave., Hartford, CT 06155.

Qualifications: Position requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related field; plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or any occupation in which the required experience was gained. In addition, position requires 4 years of experience in the following: Best practices in Data Processes, SDLC practices, Distributed systems, Data warehousing solutions SQL, ETL tools, Bigdata and Datalake; CICD, Cloud Technologies (AWS), R, Python/Spark; Working within insurance and investment industry and emerging data centric technology; Big data technologies and concepts on a Hadoop platform, such as Scoop, Hive, Pig, NoSql; Scheduling tools, Sub Version, and Version control tools; and Warehouse applications knowledge in financial and insurance domain.

Salary Range: Wage Range: $135,000 - $170,040 per YEAR

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$135,000 - $170,040
