Oracle Senior Manager, Federal - Software Investment Advisory in Hartford, Connecticut

Job Description

Builds relationships with Oracle customers and advises on their Oracle investments. Acts as the primary interface for Software Investment Advisory (SIA) to assigned Oracle Accounts by providing direction and specialist knowledge in licensing and subscriptions to maximize value creation. Develops constructive stakeholder relationships, which involves direct interaction with different Oracle lines-of-business and Oracle customers. Drives the discussion and acts as a change management catalyst and a key interface and bridge between the various stakeholders.

University degree or equivalent combination of studies and experience. Demonstrated expertise in area of specialization. Experience managing, strengthening and broadening key client relationships. Ability to take a big picture view to think and act strategically. Cross-cultural and cross-functional mindset to operate in a multi-cultural environment. Proven analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to communicate your findings with impact. Typically 8 plus years of professional experience.

Responsibilities

The Role:

Responsible for proactively delivering Oracle Software Investment Advisory’s services to Oracle customers, including Federal accounts.

Advises Oracle Customers on licenses and subscriptions to align with their present and future needs:

  • Advises our Customers on their current Oracle entitlements, including guidance on how to rationalize and maximize the value of their investment

  • Supports our Customers in understanding their transition of on-premises usage to Cloud

  • Provides best practice guidance and education on cost management and optimization in Customers’ Oracle cloud environment(s).

Scope:

  • Partners with other Oracle lines of business: Sales, Account Directors, Product Management, Deal Management, etc.

  • Reports to functional manager

  • Works in assigned Account(s), including Federal accounts among other industries

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for taking ownership of a portfolio of strategic Oracle Customers, understanding their specific needs, and presenting appropriate recommendations

  • Responsible for governance, which involves designing processes, procedures and long term technology road map to maximize value creation in accordance with Software Investment Advisory’s objectives

  • Personally meets with high-profile customers and provides them with the information and insight they need to take the best decisions about their Oracle investment

  • Drives strategic discussion with multiple stakeholders at various levels (including C level) and delivers professional presentations

  • Builds strong relationship internally and externally and acts as a facilitator for the flawless execution of Software Investment Advisory’s services

  • Owns the success of your activity against KPIs such as customer satisfaction, activity outcomes and service delivery timelines

  • Creates systematic business planning, monitoring and reporting of your activity for assigned areas

  • Operates in line with Oracle’s processes/procedures & core values

  • Supports peers in acquiring experience (e.g. customer facing situations, new products, new services)

  • Personal development

Qualification

  • University degree or equivalent combination of studies and experience

  • 8+ years’ experience in a relevant role in the technology industry: consulting, account management, customer success, software asset management, vendor management, etc.

  • US Citizenship required to work with Federal Customers.

Competencies

  • Understanding of IT technical architectures and affinity with trends in enterprise software usage

  • Experience in managed software environment and subscription license entitlement (e.g. Cloud computing)

  • Ability to interpret and understand complex software deployment models (On-premise, Cloud and Hybrid), licensing and business practices and apply them to different scenarios

  • Experience in large and complex IT environments

  • Ability to work in a consultative manner with the appropriate level of technical understanding and experience to hold high level discussions and negotiations

  • Ability to create business cases using software deployment data and financial metrics such ROI, TCO and Payback periods

  • Ability to work on your own initiative and in many different and challenging environments

  • Strong communication, presentation, business writing and professional skills, including being able to liaise with both technical/ business & internal/ external contacts

  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders in order to gain credibility quickly, inspire trust and confidence

  • Ability to determine client needs with innovative approaches

  • Logical approach to data analysis

  • Advanced spreadsheet capability

  • Fluent in English, other languages dependent on the market / region

  • FinOps, TBM, OCI, ITIL, CSAM, ITAM, CISA or other technology-specific certifications preferred

  • Experience in working with Federal customers is strongly preferred

Percentage of travel may be required. Ability to work remote.

US: Hiring Range: from $87,000 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
