Days: Monday-Thursday

Morning classes: 8:30 am to 12:30 pm

Evening classes: 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Human Services, English, Education, ESL, TOEFL or related field from an accredited college or equivalent
• One year of ESL teaching experience
• Expertise in current Microsoft/Google office products for use and presentation
• Excellent organizational skills, initiative, and ability to work with limited supervision
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
• Ability to speak clearly and distinctly when communicating with limited English-speaking individuals
• Must pass a criminal background check

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the ESL teacher include:

• Using the provided curriculum as a core instructional material, prepare lessons based on student goals, preferences, interests, and needs; create and share supplemental materials and activities as needed to meet student needs
• Assess students and plan lessons in alignment with the Pennsylvania Department of Education curriculum and Tri-County OIC
• Fulfill administrative duties including maintaining student files through documentation of daily class attendance, preparation of daily lesson plans, quarterly progress notes, communicating with assigned volunteer classroom aides, and submitting all timesheets and documentation in a timely fashion
• Attend weekly staff meetings, participate in the program improvement process, and attend ESL trainings and conferences
• Manage volunteer classroom aides comfortably
• Teach at least one class twice a week for 8 hours
