DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fingerprint Technician Supervisor, you will supervise the manual and automated fingerprinting process and maintain knowledge of the crime and penal codes of Pennsylvania. You can expect to organize the fingerprint unit workflow according to state and federal standards. In this position, you provide guidance and instruction to local and state agencies in the use of fingerprinting equipment, contact the agencies when errors occur with their submissions, and ensure that the criminal history records are completed or updated accurately. Additionally, you will provide emergency fingerprint services for criminal justice agencies in the search and identification of individuals. As a supervisor, you are responsible for onboarding new employees, evaluating their work performance, and providing training.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours per week Work hours are determined through rotating shifts including holidays and weekends. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please Note:  Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $53,161.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Fingerprint Technician (commonwealth title); or Two years of experience in the identification and non-identification of individuals through fingerprint and palm print examination, comparison, and verification.

Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency. You must obtain and maintain an active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
