DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This Administrative Officer 1 position provides administrative support to the Board of Nursing in the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs through a variety of activities: Reviews and analyzes current program policies for effectiveness and efficiency. Revises or develops program policies for approval by the administrative officers, board counsel, and the commissioner's office that promote effective and efficient operation within the division. Develops and revises procedure manuals for approval by the administrative officers and the commissioner's office. Supervises clerical assistants who review applications for renewal or reactivation of a lapsed or inactive license from nurses and related professionals in accordance with board laws and regulations. Keeps apprised of ongoing changes in statutes, regulations, and policy and initiates changes to the website and other communications.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time (up to 50% of the time). In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and bachelor's degree; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
