Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Accounting Technician in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

If so, The Office of Comptroller Operations is looking for a dedicated, analytical, and dependable individual to perform accounts payable functions pertaining to supplies, materials, equipment, and services. If you thrive on advanced clerical accounting work involving the application of auditing principles and practices, this is the job for you!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position is primarily focused on independent receiving, analyzing, auditing, and processing of Non-Purchase Order accounting documents. You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and suitable processing and payment in accordance with Commonwealth of PA rules and regulations. Additional duties include analyzing and reviewing Non-Purchase Order invoices and supporting documentation and rejecting invoices which are invalid or require payment. You will have the opportunity to work closely with agency, vendor, and Comptroller Operations to coordinate activities associated with resolution of Non-Purchase Order invoice issues.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You will be expected to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Your headquarters is 555 Walnut Street, 9th Floor, Harrisburg. You will be required to report to headquarters to pick up your equipment and attend periodic meetings at your expense. Salary:All new employees with the Commonwealth will start at the minimum salary. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Fiscal Assistant or an Accounting Assistant; or Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required): At least two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work. Experience working in an accounting/financial environment. Experience working with SAP software. Experience managing daily high-volume transactional functions within an organization. Experience using a purchasing card/credit card for business purchases. Experience in customer service either face-to-face or in a call center setting.
