  • Background in software testing, with this background in testing software in a material handling or other mechatronics environment.

  • Reside local to the Plainville CT site. Alternate would be Harrisburg, PA.

  • Ability to work rotating shifts and weekends, could be 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift.

The Software Commissioning Engineer (SCE) is primarily responsible for leading and executing software test plans in support of Customer's software solutions at customer sites. Testing results and progress to be coordinated and communicated with the Client project team and our customer. Additionally, the SCE must be able to identify operating, engineering or software configuration problems and work to implement a solution.

This is What You Will do in This Role:

  • Lead the execution of the site software validation test plan

  • Generate and update test case management repository

  • Capture, summarize and communicate testing results and progress with team members and our customer

  • Participate in system acceptance testing with our customer

  • Provide customer startup support

  • Utilize SQL queries to support solution analysis

  • Being able to read and interpret software solution logs, identifying system issues

  • Utilize remote desktop connection/virtual machines (VM)

  • Train end users with Client application workflows

  • Perform pre-site software quality assurance testing aligned to software development activities.

What We are Looking For:

  • Associates in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Good technical skills and ability to learn new applications quickly.

  • Basic understanding of relational databases and being able to write SQL Queries

  • Strong problem-solving skills; self-starter; detail-oriented; multitasking

  • Strong desire to learn and grow in the position

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Passion to meet deadlines

  • Ability to travel and work at customer job sites

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Mostly Shop Floor involvement, occasional Office Environments.

  • Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.

  • Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.

  • Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
