ManTech Lead Test Engineer in Hanover, Maryland

In this position, you will be situated in Hanover, MD, collaborating closely with a compact, yet diverse, multi-disciplinary team. As part of your responsibilities, you will meticulously analyze system prerequisites and operational concept documents. Additionally, you will meticulously prepare for and execute comprehensive data collection and analysis exercises, subsequently furnishing regular updates on progress and the resulting outcomes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work in an agile environment and utilize your skills in Systems Engineering, Test Engineering, and Networking to devise operational scenarios and performance tests, as well as support operations.

  • Analyze system behavior, evaluate performance, and contribute to readiness reviews and product release cycles.

  • Communicate effectively with the technical team, management, and customers, keeping them informed of progress, plans, and potential issues.

  • Collaborate with other organizations and teams to gather insights for accurate system performance assessments.

  • Leveraging your expert knowledge and understanding of test engineering concepts and principles, you will be responsible for preparing test and diagnostic programs.

  • Designing test fixtures and equipment will be a crucial part of your role, ensuring that the necessary tools are available for efficient testing.

  • You will contribute to the development of specifications and procedures throughout the engineering development lifecycle, ensuring that all testing requirements are met.

  • Your expertise will be utilized to ensure that the test programs and fixtures are designed in a manner that meets the project's objectives and quality standards.

  • Collaborating with the engineering team, you will provide guidance and support in the implementation of test strategies and plans.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology and 7+ years of relevant experience.

  • Experience testing large-scale systems.

  • Ability to develop System Test Plans, Requirements Test Verification Matrices, and System Test Cases.

  • Familiarity with configuring and testing embedded systems.

  • Participation in system test readiness reviews and operation readiness reviews.

  • Knowledge of networks, IP subnets/routing, and ability to configure network interfaces, set IP addresses, and subnets.

  • Experience creating and configuring Virtual Machines to emulate operational environments.

  • Familiarity with basic VLAN/VPN/NAT concepts.

  • Knowledge of signal analysis tools such as Wireshark.

  • Development experience using Python, Ruby, or JavaScript.

  • Familiarity with the Linux operating system.

  • Experience working in an Agile environment using the Atlassian suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience testing systems that host Real-Time Operating Systems such as VxWorks, Integrity, eCos, or POSIX compliant Operating Systems such as Solaris or BSD.

  • Familiarity with SVN or GIT version control systems and understanding of basic Configuration Management principles.

  • Experience with network test equipment such as Spirent/Ixia/Xena packet testers.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Active/Current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required to start.

Physical Requirements:

  • The job involves sedentary work, including sitting, standing, walking, and talking. The ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods is necessary (50% of the time).

  • Some movement may be required to accomplish tasks or move between work sites, especially when working at customer sites.

  • Effective communication with others is essential, including exchanging information and delivering presentations to co-workers, management, and customers.

  • Working with computers is a regular part of the job.
