NJ Employer Farm Worker in Hammonton, New Jersey
Anticipated period of employment: 05/20/2024 to 09/06/2024
1 months of farm work experience required. Extensive walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing and pulling, twisting, and lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs.
Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor; work varies depending on the farm location. Duties may vary depending upon the weather and what crop is being tended. Crops include - Blueberries, Sweet corn, cucumbers, eggplant, green and yellow summer squash, green and specialty peppers, purple top turnips and grasses. Nursery/High tunnel/Greenhouse: Work can range from filling trays and filling pots while planting seeds. Workers will water and take care of crops being grown in the Nursery/High Tunnels/Greenhouse. Planting: Work can range from seeding/propagating the crop to transferring full- sized plants into fields. The workers may place seed/seedlings/ plants into soil via seeding/transplanting machinery or into manually dug holes. Only workers meeting all qualifications on the job order should be referred by the Job Service Office.
