What you’ll do:

We are looking for motivated professionals with strong skills in VAVE, Cost out & NPI projects in UPS, distribution panels, battery racks. Success in this position requires the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, strong motivation for pursuing project objectives and the ability to learn new techniques, tools, processes.

Candidate should be able to demonstrate following Responsibilities

• Identify the cost saving opportunities by product evaluation, generate strong pipeline of Ideas, prioratize and convert ideas into projects.

• Coordinate with Global stakeholders and Drive project execution through Design, testing and implementation phase

• Technical ownership of the project. Ensure product compliance to global design standards like IEC, NEMA or any other compliance standard.

• Completes system / component sizing, modeling, and simulation to meet Low voltage switchgear requirements.

• Modify existing products to support customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standard, and market requirement through Change Management process.

• Lead Idea generation events to build project pipeline with help of Tech. leads, SMEs and global stakeholders.

• Perform teardown, generate ideas, perform system/ component sizing, modeling, and simulation to meet product design and compliance requirements.

• Develop understanding of both technology and products of CPS portfolio including understanding on regulatory requirements such as IEC, UL,CSA, NEMA standards, design considerations, system interactions, application and constraints.

• Demonstrated capability in design of UPS system, distribution panels, Sheetmetal complex assemblies

• Select engineering techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations

• Modify existing products to support customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standard, and market requirement.

• Evaluate ideas to estimate the potential savings, build business case, required resources, timeline and allign with stakeholders for approvals.

• Design/modify 3D models, drawings & BOM of UPS systems, Power systems & Panels componenent/assemblies

• Drive regular followup meetings to provide periodic update on Project status, challanges, changes and impact.

• Assess test results, perform root cause analysis through test findings/failures and take corrective/preventive actions

• Support suppliers in resolving DFM related challanges and queries to provide quotes and prototypes.

• Will be responsible for execution of the project and support activities like Production feasibility assessment and Part production approval process (PPAP).

• Responsible for some system engineering analysis. Completes / reviews analysis on components through the use of Ansys, Mat lab, MathCAD or Excel calculations

• Review Supplier Document Requirements List documents based on product requirements, customer specifications or industry standards like IEC, NEMA etc.,.

• Participate/ Conduct in design reviews, both customer and internal as required

• Review reliability predictions, and Design Failure Modes and Effects analysis (FMEA) and structural/thermal/CFD results

• Perform a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique customer applications

• May provide formal and informal updates to Engineering Manager and Program Manager. Participates in the preparation for design review material.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s/master’s degree in engineering in Mechanical

Required: 6-8 Years of total experience

5+ years of experience in VAVE/ Cost out projects on Sheetmetal, Plastic products.

2+ years of experience in working on UPS system & panels.

Skills:

• Proven knowledge and experience on VAVE/ Cost out project execution with devloped VAVE mindset, also should be capable to work on NPI/ Sustaining projects as needed.

• Experties in design of Plastic & Sheetmetal components and assemblies.

• Knowledge on design of Cast, Forged and Machined parts.

• Strong ability to implement GD&T, drafting standards & mechanical design processes

• Strong knowledge on manufacturing processes, materials, cost and latest technolgies in manufacturing of mechanical components and prototyping techniques.

• Knowledge on identifying requirements & develope test plan from standards in accordance to IEC/UL/CSA/CCC codes.

• Knowledge of DFSS methodology & experince in using various tools like Concept tarde-off, PDSC, DFMEA, DVP etc.

• Understinding & experince in reviewing structural/thermal/CFD/MBD, moldflow, reliability analysis reports to draw appropriate conclusion.

• Knowledge on PLM systems (Enovia , SAP) and change management processes ECR/ECO.

• Hands on experience in CAD tools - SolidWorks & Creo.

• Basic Knowledge on electronics/ hardware components.
