The Role: Associate Director - Technical Accountant

What’s in it for you: Our busy Group Finance Team is looking for a Technical Accounting Manager, who is practice trained candidate with strong technical accounting experience. This role will work in a small group function for Osttra Group, a business going through change and growth. The Technical Accounting Manager is a critical role accountable for the financial reporting of the Group, with initial focus on providing subject matter expertise support on multi-disciplinary finance projects including transfer pricing.

This role is ideal for someone who has an inquisitive mind and is willing to challenge the status quo to enable us to continue to improve, evolve and grow! You will be part of a growing business inputting your technical knowledge to enable decisions and best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Project manage the technical accounting / group reporting workstream for various projects.

  • Prepare technical accounting papers for management and the auditors on the transactions, that document issues in a clear, logical, and comprehensive manner including journal entries and financial statement disclosures.

  • Preparation accounting and financial reports to the audit committee. Supporting the consolidation and external reporting requirements of the group, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

  • Manage and ensure compliance with internal review control for accounting transactions and perform the necessary procedures and documentation.

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures and systems for relevant accounting and reporting.

  • Lead and perform key technical accounting research including keeping up to date with changes in IFRS and US GAAP and local regulatory guidance. Perform impact assessment, prepare technical accounting guidance, and lead implementation programme for these changes.

  • Oversea the Groups transfer pricing policies working closely with the business and tax.

  • Supporting the production of annual reports and accounts and other financial reports.

  • Work closely with the business to ensure that changes in accounting policies are implemented properly.

  • Review and ensure compliance with regulatory reporting

What We’re Looking For:

  • The ideal candidate will be an Big 4 qualified accountant with proven ability to analyse complex financial information and translate it into meaningful insights with strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering improvements.

  • Audit and technical advisory training and industry exposure would be desirable.

  • Strong technical knowledge and experience of practical application of accounting standards.

  • Excellent communication skills written reports and presentations are essential. You will be working with Senior Leadership Teams, Boards, and external stakeholders, explaining results and options for decision-making with clarity and focus.

  • Knowledge of US accounting principles (desirable)
