JOB TITLE: Team Manager II

ROLE OVERVIEW:Reporting to the Operations Department Manager, the Team Manager II provides leadership for a functional team within a high-performance environment. This role involves overseeing daily operations, driving improvement initiatives, and maintaining overall accountability for the team's results. The job requires a solid understanding of technical concepts in the incumbent's area of expertise and a basic knowledge of related areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. TEAM MANAGEMENT:

  • Lead the team in the designated functional area, aligning with McCormick's High-Performance System.
  • Utilize coaching and facilitation skills for effective employee relations.
  • Provide regular performance feedback, oversee development/training plans, and recognize achievements.
  • Remove barriers hindering the team's goal achievement.

2. IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITIES:

  • Use problem-solving tools to implement continuous process improvements.
  • Demonstrate urgency and tenacity in resolving issues and driving improvements.
  • Lead root cause analysis for significant failures.
  • Ensure documentation and continual improvement of functional procedures and best practices.

3. MANAGE KEY RESULT AREAS:

  • Direct and support daily operations to prioritize work and achieve goals.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with operational processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate resource sharing for optimal skill utilization.
  • Implement procedures and scorecards for the team.

4. COMMUNICATION:

  • Communicate effectively throughout the organization, aligning with McCormick's objectives.
  • Share organizational and plant objectives, ensuring understanding and linkage to the team's work.
  • Manage interactions with other departments to support overall plant objectives.

5. FUNCTIONAL OGSM:

  • Execute specific projects and action plans annually in support of the functional OGSM.

6. TECHNICAL DUTIES SPECIFIC TO FUNCTION:

  • Manage technical aspects of the role within the functional area.

EXPERIENCE:Individuals will enter this role with a minimum of 5 years of technical experience and must have:

  • Sustained demonstrated leadership in a high-performance environment.
  • Knowledge of at least one other functional area.
  • Management of projects through to successful completion.
  • Bachelor's Degree Required

SKILLS and REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong mechanical ability and understanding of packaging/processing equipment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the financial impact of business decisions.
  • Analytical skills for root cause analysis.
  • Understanding of Preventive, Autonomous, and Total Productive Maintenance systems.
  • Knowledge of SAP or other enterprise resource planning tools.

BUSINES EXPERTISE:

  • In-depth understanding of how own area integrates with others.
  • Comprehensive understanding of how multiple areas contribute to business goals.
  • Basic understanding of the industry sector impact on own function.
