The Loss Mitigation Line Manager I is responsible for managing highly regulated processes with significant personal impact to our Homeowners as well as financial and reputational impact to Truist. The Line Manager I will manage a team of Loss Mitigation specialist responsible for making daily loan modification decisions impacting our Clients and do so in accordance with a multiple regulatory, investor and insurer requirements as well as Truist policy/procedures. The Line Manger l ensures the operations managed are adequately staffed, trained and developed, exercises authority concerning performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, development plans and terminations. Keeps informed of new developments/technology, protects company liability by ensuring compliance, and reviews/analyzes new methods and procedures to insure department efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Lead a team of onshore teammates, offshore Infosys, and onshore contractor teammates handling multiple functions averaging 8-15.

  2. Ensure adherence to all governing servicing SLAs, regulations and investor/insurer requirements impacting the Loss Mitigation Department including but not limited to ECOA, Reg X, Reg H, Fair Lending, FHA 4000.1, FNMA, FHLMC, VA, USDA, and all applicable Private Investor Requirements.

  3. Ensure accuracy of Document evaluation (Reg X), Underwriting requirements (Agency/Fair Lending), Legal Document Creation, Agreement Execution and System Change (SOX).

  4. Develop and Maintain Procedures in accordance with Truist Policy including but not limited to Change Execution, Agency updates, and Process Improvement Initiatives.

  5. Develop and Install training programs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and flexibility. Eliminate Single Point of Failure risks.

  6. Execute on personnel hiring, training, ongoing coaching and feedback, performance ratings, salary changes, promotions, transfers, and terminations. Establish priorities and resolve personnel problems.

  7. Develop and administer specific productivity and quality goals for each assigned Loss Mitigation function including Regulatory (Reg X, REG B, ECOA etc.) and Investor/Insurer/Policy requirements

  8. Proactively Identify, escalate, and mitigate risks within your area and related up and downstream processes impacting your team and Loss Mitigation.

  9. Identify efficiency and risk areas of opportunity within your area and work with LM Line manager II and Department manager on action plan development and implementation.

  10. Actively engage on any Audit or compliance findings for long term compliance solutions and remediation.
