MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in reliability, electrical, mechanical or related engineering field.

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience in a maintenance, maintenance supervision, or engineering role.

Certification/Licensure

  • N/A

  • ASQ-CRE or CMRP certification preferred

  • Experience in performance monitoring or performance reporting

  • Extensive experience with a CMMS such as Maximo, SAP or other systems¿¿¿¿¿¿¿

SUMMARY

The Senior Reliability Manager is responsible for leading and monitoring the effective reliability measurement and maintenance activities for assets within the Office of Chief Operating Officer (COO) and other WMATA applicable equipment. The incumbent will apply Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methods to guide WMATA departments in maintaining assets using best practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Serves as the lead reliability engineer on programs related to improving reliability, performance, and maintainability for revenue and non-revenue assets for WMATA.

  • Leads efforts in determining root causes of failure of WMATA revenue and non-revenue assets within COO to ensure problems are identified at the correct level so appropriate solutions can be implemented.

  • Serves as a champion for an asset class, asset fleet and/or maintenance department to ensure critical WMATA assets are monitored consistently for failure trends and performance.

  • Utilizes analysis tools and methods to independently develop performance reports on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis as required to ensure timely and relevant performance reporting is published to asset owners under COO.

  • Analyzes projected product utilization and calculates cumulative effect on final system reliability of individual part reliabilities.

  • Drafts failure mode and effect analysis sheets or formulates mathematical models, using computer-aided engineering equipment, to identify units posing excessive failure risks and support proposed changes in design.

  • Coordinates the gathering of interdepartmental data by running SQL queries and developing reports between the maintenance offices and operations control centers.

  • Applies knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) to current maintenance programs to ensure departments within COO maintain their critical assets in the most cost-effective manner.

  • Advises and confers with engineers in design review meetings to give reliability findings and recommendations.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • Leads the management of data across numerous databases to ensure the quality and integrity of the data.

  • Independently develops and executes complex queries in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) containing millions of records to identify and analyze reliability issues using programming languages and tools (e.g. SQL).

  • Identifies and communicates data quality concerns with recommendations to all levels of the organization including senior leadership.

  • Collaborates with internal WMATA departments including Engineering, Office of Performance and respective maintenance departments.

  • Represents the department in reliability meetings at all levels of the company, including senior leadership.
