Sinclair Broadcast Group News Producer in Green Bay, Wisconsin
WLUK Green Bay has an immediate opening for a creative News Producer! In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production of our newscasts. This position will also work closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk and Anchors on the newscast and its content. The producer is a journalist who writes news stories and determines the content and flow of newscasts. The producer will work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories and develop content for our web site. This is an excellent entry level position for someone with a bachelor's degree in a preferred area of study including; Journalism, Political Science, Communications, or English. Candidates with associate degrees will be considered.
The ideal candidate will have:
Solid news judgment
Be a compelling and accurate writer
Be able to multitask and manage time in order to put together an exciting and informative newscast
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
Strong leadership and communication skills
The ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
Flexibility
Ability to learn new software - openness to accept change
Experience:
A professional internship with a broadcast or digital news source is preferred
College/University experience with a student media outlet (newspaper, digital broadcast)
Bachelor degree - a Journalism degree is preferred
This is an entry level position - training and support in learning is provided
