Trinity Health Respiratory Therapy Assistant, Part Time in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Description:

Performs technical procedures related to the treatment of patients with Cardiopulmonary disorders, including the assembly of equipment and administration of respiratory medications under the direct supervision of a Respiratory Therapist.

Education

Minimum

  • High School diploma/GED a minimum

Preferred:

  • Current student in an accredited respiratory therapist program and/or College level courses

Credentials/Licensure

Minimum:

  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

Preferred:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Related Experience

Preferred:

  • One year of patient care experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Minimum:

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and customer service skills.

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain composure under stressful situations.

  • Identify adverse response(s) to therapy and obtain necessary assistance.

  • Use, clean, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment. Control and organize supply resources.

Computer Competency

Shows how to use (through a competency assessment) a standard desktop and windows based computer system, including a basic understanding of email, e-learning, intranet and computer navigation. Ability to use other software as required to perform the essential functions of the job.
