Temporary/Seasonal Registered Nurse Opportunity - 2nd shift

Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults.

Forest View provid es evidence-based treatment to adolescents and adults struggling with mental health issues. Forest View Hospital invests in our patients by offering an integrated medicine approach that provides the latest therapies. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for Temporary/Seasonal Registered Nurses.

This position supports our team as a Temporary Assignment for 16 weeks full time on 8 hour shifts with the possiblility of extension for up to 6 months. This is an excellent opportunity for RNs who are interested gaining hands-on experience in Psychiatric Care without a long-term commitment. As a temporary position this is not eligible for our benefit programs, we offer exceptional pay of $70/hour. Current or recently departed employees of UHS are not elgible for this program.

Job Details for the Temporary/Seasonal Registered Nurse (RN) include:

  • Complete nurse to nurse assessment with other healthcare facilities and communicate with Internal Medicine as needed.

  • Competent in assessing, planning, and delivering care for patients with co-occurring disorders.

  • The nurse continually assesses and reassesses the patient’s medical and psychiatric status and changing needs.

  • Participates with other team members in planning and implementing the patient’s treatment plan.

  • Complete internal nursing assessments.

  • Works with both adult and adolescent population.

  • Opportunity to Cross train to provide high quality patient care across all 5 of our units

    Qualifications

  • Current license to practice nursing in the state of Michigan (or eligible to receive or renew).

  • Current CPR or BLS certification

  • Previous Pyschiatric Nursing experience is a plus, but not required

  • Willingness to work 2nd shift and every other weekend as required
